Vanilla Buttercream Frosting Recipe

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 3–4 cups powdered sugar, sifted 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2–4 tablespoons heavy cream or milk Pinch of salt

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2–3 minutes until light and creamy.

Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low speed to incorporate and then increasing to medium.

Add the vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, and 2 tablespoons of cream or milk. Beat until smooth and fluffy, about 2 more minutes. If the frosting is too thick,

add more cream or milk one tablespoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached. For a stiffer frosting (ideal for piping), add more powdered sugar as needed.

Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
