1 fully cooked bone-in ham (6–8 lbs) 1 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard ¼ cup honey ¼ cup apple cider vinegar Whole cloves (optional, for garnish and flavor)
Ingredients
01
Preheat your oven to 325°F. Remove ham from packaging and pat dry. Trim excess fat, leaving a ¼-inch layer for flavor and moisture.
02
Using a sharp knife, score the ham in a diamond pattern about ¼-inch deep. This allows the glaze to penetrate the meat for better flavor.
03
Combine 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, ¼ cup honey, and ¼ cup apple cider vinegar in a saucepan. Simmer until thickened.
04
Optional: Insert whole cloves into the scored sections of the ham. This adds aromatic flavor and gives a traditional presentation.
05
Brush the ham generously with half of the glaze. Place it on a rack in a roasting pan. Add ½ inch of water to the pan to keep it moist.
06
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 1½ to 2 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 140°F. Baste every 30 minutes with pan juices.
07
Remove foil and apply remaining glaze. Broil for 3–5 minutes to caramelize the glaze. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
