Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside while you prepare the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.

Beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add melted butter and vanilla extract, then stir until fully combined and smooth.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined—do not overmix. Gently fold in the fresh berries.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve with extra berries or whipped cream.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For best results, use fresh, firm berries and avoid overmixing the batter.
