2 oz vodka (chilled) 1 oz coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa) 1 oz fresh espresso (hot or cooled) ½ oz simple syrup (adjust to taste) Ice 3 coffee beans (for garnish)
Ingredients
01
Start by chilling your martini glass. You can either place it in the freezer or fill it with ice water while you prep the rest of the drink.
02
Brew a fresh shot of espresso using an espresso machine or strong coffee. Let it cool slightly so it won’t water down the cocktail when shaken with ice.
03
In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, coffee liqueur, fresh espresso, and simple syrup. This mix forms the strong, sweet base of your espresso martini.
04
Fill the shaker with lots of ice. A full shaker of ice ensures the drink gets cold quickly and helps you achieve that signature foamy top.
05
Shake the mixture hard for 15–20 seconds. You want to build pressure and aerate the espresso to create a silky foam that will float beautifully on top.
06
Double strain the cocktail into your chilled martini glass. This step catches ice shards and gives your drink a smooth, luxurious finish.
07
Garnish with three coffee beans placed in the center of the foam. This traditional touch symbolizes health, wealth, and happiness.
