1 pound ground beef 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 (24 oz) jar tomato pasta sauce or homemade marinara 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon dried oregano Salt and pepper to taste 9 lasagna noodles 15 oz ricotta cheese 1 large egg 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tsp dried) 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Ingredients
01
Cook ground beef with garlic and onions. Add tomato sauce, basil, and oregano. Simmer for 30 minutes until rich and flavorful.
02
Boil lasagna noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on parchment paper to prevent sticking.
03
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, a beaten egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures even cooking and a golden, bubbling top layer.
04
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish. Add noodles, ricotta mix, mozzarella, and repeat. End with sauce and cheese.
05
Cover the lasagna with foil. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the top is golden.
06
Allow the lasagna to rest for 15 minutes after baking. This helps it set and makes slicing much easier.
07
Serve with a green salad, garlic bread, and a glass of red wine. A comforting, complete meal for any occasion.
