In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of milk or water to a gentle boil over medium heat, adding a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.

Stir in 1 cup of rolled oats. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, for about 5 minutes.

Once oats are soft and creamy, stir in 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 2 tbsp pure maple syrup, and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract for rich, warm flavor.

Enhance with 1/4 cup chopped nuts, raisins, or dried fruit. Stir well and cook 1–2 more minutes until everything is warmed through.

Remove from heat. Let it sit for a minute, then spoon into bowls. Top with a drizzle of maple syrup or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
