Whiskey Sour Recipe with Egg White

2 oz bourbon 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice 1/2 oz simple syrup 1/2 oz egg white (or 1 small egg white) Ice Angostura bitters (for garnish) Lemon twist or cherry (optional garnish)

Start by doing a dry shake: Add bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white to a shaker with no ice. Shake hard for 10–15 seconds to emulsify.

Now add ice to the shaker and shake again—this time to chill the drink and create that velvety, frothy texture from the egg white.

Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or rocks glass. You can serve it neat or over a large ice cube, depending on your preference.

Add a few drops of Angostura bitters on top of the foam. Use a toothpick to swirl for a pretty design or leave them for a classic touch.
